Welcome to the Produce Capture Institute (PCI) blog.
Who we are:
Formed in 2013, PCI is the first-ever Peer-to-Peer learning institute with the mission to innovate, create, and execute processes that will expand the pounds of produce recovered from the agricultural industry for hunger relief across the country. Each of the member food banks has endorsed the practice of teaching and learning to affect change across the entire network of Feeding America food banks.
Produce Capture Institute Member Food Banks:
- Second Harvest Heartland
- Oregon Food Bank
- Food Bank of Delaware
- Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
- Foodlink, Inc.
- Bay Area Food Bank
- Second Harvest Middle Tennessee
- Feeding America West Michigan
- Feeding America Tampa Bay
With this blog, we will share the experiences, learning, successes and challenges that PCI member food banks have experienced in our efforts to bring more fruits and vegetables to our hungry neighbors table. It is our hope that with each addition, you may find an idea or two that can be used in your work.
